LICHENI™ is a home design project by Alberto Pepe, translating years of research on lichens into ceramic objects, jacquard textiles and collectible pieces for living spaces.

The research

LICHENI™ comes from years of observing lichens growing on stone, tiles, walls and architectural surfaces across Southern Italy.

What began as a photographic archive became a visual language: organic structures, mineral colours and natural compositions collected over time and translated into ceramics, jacquard textiles, cement tiles and collectible pieces.

The objects

The first online selection includes ceramic plates, mugs, trays and jacquard textiles developed as functional objects and collectible surface. Each piece carries a fragment of the LICHENI™ research:

not as a simple image applied to an object, but as a translation from surface to material, from observation to use.

Made in Southern Italy

LICHENI™ is rooted in Southern Italy, both as a visual archive and as a production landscape.

The project connects Alberto Pepe’s photographic research with local craft processes, ceramic production and jacquard textile development, creating objects that move between design, territory and contemporary material culture.
