LICHENI Vase LS02 is part of an ongoing research project by Alberto Pepe exploring the visual languages generated by lichens on stone surfaces throughout Southern Italy.
The vertical decorative band originates from photographs collected over years of observation and fieldwork, transforming naturally occurring patterns into contemporary objects for living spaces.
Produced in collaboration with Fratelli Colì, a historic ceramic manufacturer based in Puglia, the vase combines traditional craftsmanship with a contemporary visual language rooted in the Mediterranean landscape.
Its simple cylindrical form emphasizes the contrast between the neutral ceramic surface and the organic complexity of the lichen-derived pattern, creating an object that functions both as a vase and as a sculptural presence.
